Found a German word while using AI? Keep it.
You are reading an article with Claude, or photographing a page of your textbook, and a word comes up that you want. Connect KorrektWort once and you can say “save these to my KorrektWort”. The words land in your vocabulary with their article, meaning, grammar and examples, scheduled for review.
Your AI conversation ends. Your learning does not.
How it works
1In your AI assistant
Read, translate, ask about a text. Pick the words worth keeping.
2Say “save these”
The assistant sends just the words. KorrektWort looks each one up itself.
3They come back
In stories, grammar practice, writing and review until you know them.
The assistant picks the words. KorrektWort defines them.
An AI assistant is good at noticing which words in a text are worth learning. It is not our dictionary. Only the words themselves are sent: KorrektWort then resolves each one through its own pipeline, so gefühlt is saved as fühlen. It supplies the article, plural, CEFR level, grammar and examples from its own shared dictionary, exactly as if you had typed the word in yourself. Nothing the assistant says about a word is stored.
Connect Claude
- 1In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- 2Name it KorrektWort and paste the server URL below.
- 3Claude will ask you to sign in. Use the KorrektWort account you already have.
- 4A consent screen appears naming one permission: add German words to your account. Approve it.
- 5Ask Claude to save words whenever you like. For example, “pick the eight most useful B2 words from this page and save them to my KorrektWort”.
Server URL
https://korrektwort.com/api/mcpWhat the assistant can reach
It can
Add German words to your account
And nothing else. That is the whole permission.
It cannot
- Read your words, notes or review history
- Delete or change anything you have
- See your email, password or payment details
- Use your credits or buy anything
- Write to anyone else's account
Which account a word belongs to is decided by the sign-in you completed, never by anything the assistant sends. There is no field in the request that can name a different learner.
Your conversation is never sent to KorrektWort. Only the German words are sent. Disconnect at any time from your assistant’s connector settings; access stops immediately.
Which assistants work
KorrektWort implements the open Model Context Protocol, so it is not tied to one company. What follows is what we have actually tested, kept separate from what each platform says it allows.
| Assistant | Status |
|---|---|
| Claude | Verified by us Custom connector, on every Claude plan. |
| ChatGPT | Not tested by us OpenAI lists write-capable custom MCP apps as a beta for Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, which an admin must enable. On Pro, developer mode is described as read-only, which would not permit saving. |
| Gemini | Not tested by us Google’s custom apps are English-only, need a personal account, and are not currently offered across much of Europe, including Germany. |
Availability depends on the AI platform, your plan and your region, and all three change often. Platform details above last checked 11 October 2026. If you connect KorrektWort successfully from another assistant, we would like to hear about it.
